Another great year for the largest printing show in North America, the SGIA Expo had almost 20,000 people attended at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans and nearly 600 exhibitors showcased the latest in innovation and technology in the screen and digital printing industry. In conjunction to the Expo, The Printed Electronics Symposium was also a huge success with 73 registrants.
Included in this year’s showcase, there were demos, networking and marketing opportunities, and product launches. The Symposium this year put a spotlight on E-Textile opportunities in the industry. Presenters offered advice on different applications and materials that can be utilized. Customers and researchers have collaborated and developed sensors and products built in with an array of methods and materials to be used in medical, fitness and commercial settings.
More importantly, the networking opportunities are invaluable as industry knowledge is shared and collaborated, as well as staying connected to the latest technology in the industry. These opportunities are a great resource for innovation, with a complete view of the marketplace.
This is exactly the opportunity that ECI Screen Print’s President, Edward F. Cook, Jr. noted as he announced FP3. This year, Cook was announced as the 2018 Chairman of The SGIA’s Board of Directors. With FP3 – Functional Printing, Process and Products – there will be extensive networking opportunities during this conference held in Chicago on June 4-6, 2018. “FP3 will be the event where you can create those collaborative relationships that bring innovation to functional printing,” stated Cook. They will be composed to educational sessions, a trade show and social events and opportunities to network. The audience of FP3 will include the most innovative minds of printing companies, bringing them together to share ideas and make real connections in the industry. “These events illustrate what it means to be a platform, and where SGIA is moving in the days ahead,” states Cook.
