ECI Screen Print Inc. was an exhibitor at the Stem/Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Expo on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, located at the Coco Key Convention Center in Waterbury, CT. This event was sponsored by the Waterbury Chamber of Commerce and included 36 participating local manufacturing and technology-based companies, along with ECI Screen Print, to promote and encourage the future workforce to take a closer look into local opportunities that Connecticut has to offer. Hundreds of students, ranging from middle school to high school from western Connecticut, flooded into the expo for a manufacturing and technologically focused career fair and were given a look into where manufacturing and technological companies stand today in their local areas. Many students were looking for their next step out of high school; others were looking for opportunity or a direction they might be interested in. The Expo was also attended by high school and college counselors that were looking for opportunities for their students, getting an idea of what jobs are available in the immediate area in case students don’t wish to stray too far from home.
Representatives from ECI Screen Print Inc. politely answered any questions and handed out useful information for interested youths such as job openings, training opportunities and application forms. Resumes and business cards were traded as students and counselors learned more about screen printing, membrane switches and graphic overlays – a possible future that students could look forward to growing in as ECI Screen Print offered apprenticeships to introduce them to new opportunities.
ECI is a constant-growing company as we are currently in the middle of moving from our old location in Thomaston to our new location in Watertown. ECI is looking for hardworking bodies and creative minds to help our company grow, progress and be successful, something the future workforce of Connecticut can look forward to.
